History of the Message in a Bottle
The message in a bottle concept dates all the way back to about 310BC. It is said the one of the first recorded instances was when the Greek philosopher (Theophrastus) threw sealed bottles in to the Mediterranean to prove that the inland body of water was formed by the inflow of the Atlantic.
Over the years the message in a bottle concept has become a very romantic in nature. Kevin Costner starred in a movie titled "message in a bottle" and women swooned. The popularity of the message in a bottle gift these days has become is huge. Perhaps it is the old day charm that makes the message in a bottle so alluring or maybe it is the combination of the simplicity and the romance the gift has to offer.

The message in a bottle gifts found on this site are personally decorated by me but you get to write the romantic message that appears on the scroll inside! Bottles are 12.5 oz (375ml) with a white cork and can be decorated according to a particular theme or they can simply be romantically themed.
